Earth Spectrum is an Academy Award®–winning production company founded by director Kartiki Gonsalves. We are dedicated to telling powerful, visually compelling stories that illuminate our connection to the natural world and amplify voices too often left unheard. Our mission is to foster empathy and inspire meaningful environmental and social change by centering women, Indigenous communities, and the voiceless—human and animal alike.
Through both documentary and scripted projects, we strive to transcend borders and divisions, creating films that are authentic, emotionally resonant, and culturally impactful. For over 30,000 years, from cave paintings to oral traditions, from fireside tales to the moving image, stories have shaped how we see ourselves and our place in the world. THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME
The name Earth Spectrum was born from the belief that our planet holds an infinite range of voices, colors, and stories—each vital, each deserving to be seen and heard. The word “Earth” grounds us in the natural world, reminding us of our shared home and responsibility. The word “Spectrum” represents the diversity of perspectives that shape life on this planet: the wisdom of Indigenous communities, the strength of women, the silent voices of animals, and the untold stories that exist across cultures and landscapes.
At its core, EARTH SPECTRUM is a reminder that we are all one—threads of the same tapestry of life. The stories we tell seek to cross the boundaries that divide us—of color, culture, religion, or geography—and reveal the deep interconnectedness that unites humanity and the natural world.
